Thanks for getting curious about Kindness! Here’s a FAQ of a few of the most common questions we hear from our new students. If there’s anything we haven’t answered here, please don’t hesitate to ask. Hope to see you in the studios soon!
- Who practices at your studios?
We are serious about diversity and inclusivity at Kindness Yoga. Each of our studios has a different vibe that reflects its neighborhood and attracts a slightly different crowd, but all of our locations are bound together by the concept that is our namesake. We are proud to say that our studios are full of individuals of all ages, backgrounds, lifestyles, gender identities, and just about every other variable.
- What deals do you offer to new students?
It takes time to discover your path and create healthy habits. That’s why we offer all students new to Kindness Yoga 30 days of unlimited yoga for just $30. This is more than a killer deal – it’s an opportunity to try classes, make friends, meet teachers, and get a sense of what our community has to offer. Some of our most dedicated students will tell you that their 30 Days for $30 changed their lives and helped them become the people they are today.
- What do I need to do to begin practicing yoga at Kindness?
Just come on in! The first thing we’ll ask you to do is fill out our New Student Registration Form, which you can also complete at home to save time by clicking this link. Then we’ll give you an orientation to the studios and get you started on your 30 Days for $30 journey!
- I'm new to yoga. Where should I start?
You have a number of great options! If you are looking for a structured learning environment designed to be beginner-friendly, look no further than Foundations classes. Note that because these classes are designed to teach the fundamentals with great form, they are accessible but not necessarily easy!
If you're feeling athletic and/or ambitious, you could also jump right into Kindness Hot (All Levels) and Align & Flow (Level 1-2) classes.
And should you want to make the subtler and softer side of yoga practice your foundation, consider Yin, Restorative, or Nidra classes. These three styles are deep and powerful, yet they are physically accessible to all students.
Want to learn more? There are literally thousands of great books and other resources to choose from. Ask your Kindness Yoga teachers what they recommend for your specific interests!
- How often should I come to class?
Any amount of yoga can benefit you, but for your best shot at having a life-changing experience, we recommend that you commit to practice with us 2-4 times per week, or even more. Allow yoga to become your opportunity to build discipline, devotion and commitment as well as physical well-being. You’ll reap the rewards in every aspect of your life.
- What should I wear? What should I bring?
For most classes, we suggest you wear comfortable athletic clothing that you don’t mind sweating in. Some students wear loose clothing; others prefer tight but stretchy outfits. Some choose natural cloth garments; others like high-tech moisture-wicking performance apparel. Things are a little different in restorative, nidra, and yin classes. These styles tend to be less warming, and many students like to bring a comfortable sweatshirt and/or socks into class with them.
No matter the class, bring a yoga mat and a water bottle. You may also want a hand towel, especially for heated classes. A limited number of yoga mats are available to borrow at each of our locations. We also rent hand towels at locations where heated classes are on the schedule.
- Do I need to sign up for classes in advance?
No - class is first come, first served. There is no option to sign up for classes in advance, so the only way to guarantee a spot is by showing up early!
- I want to practice, but I don’t think I can afford it. Can you help?
Our rates reflect the cost of running a business in Denver and our commitment to creating a model that fairly compensates our hardworking staff. But at the same time, Kindness Yoga is a company driven by our hearts and our love of yoga. We want you to practice no matter your financial situation. That’s why we’re committed to offering all seekers a pay-what-you-can drop-in rate.
What does this mean? Come to any regularly-scheduled yoga class and pay what you can afford. It’s that simple. This offer is available to any student at any time. Learn more about our Donation Drop In here.
- What is your return policy on classes, memberships, and workshops?
Looking for a refund on an event or workshop? If you give us more than 24 hours notice, we'll refund the full amount paid to your card on file. If the refund request is given less than 24 hours in advance, you'll receive Kindness credit.
- My question isn't covered here. How can I get in touch?
We’d love to hear from you! The best way to get in touch is by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll respond as quickly as we can!
