Scott Anderson – Have you ever returned to something wholly familiar-a book, a place, a song, a lover-and suddenly found within it something new? That's how Denver yoga instructor Scott Anderson approaches just about everything. A devoted student of the human spirit, Scott strives to see the world with a wicked kind of curiosity, seeking wisdom in any number of unconventional combinations and unexpected sources. And find it he does: in Shakespeare and Saint Augustine; in Robert Frost and Fight Club; in the musings of Rumi and My Chemical Romance. Scott is an ordained minister, and indeed, every one of his classes is a marriage of sorts-between each student and their personal intention; between the community and its limitless potential for compassion. But it's also his goal (and his gift) to bring yogas lofty ideals down to earth. And, judging from his loyal following, Scott's contagious "pure heart, dirty mind" philosophy is successful in bringing a serious measure of fun to the mat. By nature, enlightenment comes when we least expect it, so you can't ever be fully prepared for the "mosh pit of mindfulness" that is a Scott Anderson class. But you can always expect to leave the room with your heart, mind and body a bit more open than before. back to top |

Christen Bakken - Christen Bakken began practicing yoga in the Spring of 1998. Initially yoga was a physical release for Christen. Life, starting at a young age, like most, did not always come up daisies and yoga became the way to physically work out many of her emotions. She enjoyed watching how her body and practice changed. But shortly after that, Christen started to notice how yoga affected her emotional and spiritual body as well-yoga continued as she rolled up her mat. Christen's teaching journey began during the summer of 2007. She completed her vinyasa training through CorePower. Since then has studied with Rusty Wells and learned his Bhakti Flow style in 2011. As a teacher, her favorite part of a yoga class is that moment before class is over, where she gets to potentially affect a student's life off the mat. Christen is full of energy, spunk, and surrender. "We show up. Burn brightly in the moment. Live passionately: hold nothing back. And when the moment is over, and our work is done, we step back, and let go." -Rolf Gates back to top |

Tricia Heimbach - Tricia started practicing yoga 10 years ago in college at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, after a skateboarding injury that injured her left elbow and wounded her spirit. She immediately found pain relief from her injury and slowly regained mobility & strength through a regular Yoga practice. Tricia's career took her to Monterey, CA where she worked as a naturalist in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Although Monterey was beautiful, the climate was very different from Las Vegas and she was not only craving a solid yoga practice but was also yearning for warmth. It was there that Tricia took her first Bikram yoga class and fell in love with the practice for both its meditative and physically challenging aspects. "It changed my perspective about what it means to be truly healthy, the union of body and spirit." Upon moving to Denver in 2004 she began to immediately seek out another yoga community to join and found CorePower Yoga. About a year after moving Tricia completed CPY’s Hot Yoga Teacher Training and began teaching in 2004. In 2005 she also completed CPY’s Power Yoga Teacher Training. She also enjoys teaching Restorative Yoga and completed that training in 2008. Tricia is also currently working toward completing additional 300 hour Bhakti Yoga Teacher Training with Rusty Wells. "I am a perpetual student and alternative healing nerd of sorts." "If my nose isn’t stuffed in a book I try to be on my mat and have taken many immersions, workshops, lectures with world renowned Yoga Instructors such as; Baron Baptiste, Rusty Wells, Shiva Rea, Gary Kraftsow, Judith Hanson Lasater, Dharma Mittra, Darin Main, Tias Little, Janet Stone, John Friend and many more." Tricia has put in many hours toward her master’s degree in Chinese Medicine & is currently a Certified Massage Therapist with extensive training in Thai Yoga Massage which she received locally through Textured Motion. "I find that that the more I can learn about the energetic body and how Prana flows within the physical body I can better serve the students I am blessed to teach." “As a teacher my hope is that each student feels welcomed and embraced like I have wrapped them up in a warm fuzzy blanket.” “It’s my aspiration to infuse joy into each class, and leave each student with a lingering smile.” “Why not celebrate our imperfections and find strength from there.” In her classes she likes to start with chanting to open the heart & feel that this grounds the class into the present moment. Once students become present they can find meditation and devotion within. Besides filling the heart up with love, Tricia believes in a challenging asana practice that focuses on strength, refinement and simplicity. "Students have the power to take hold of the present moment, it’s rarity to pause, I hope that each class I teach provides a space for students to pause, feel warmth from the inside, true deep love and lightness of the spirit.” back to top |

Miranda Keffer - Miranda began practicing yoga in 2005, it was the beginning of a journey that would take her many directions both personally and professionally. Yoga was the start of a journey into personal growth. It became an avenue of self expression, a form of meditation, and a tool to listen to her inner guide. Miranda has been teaching yoga for the last 4 years, and educating people on health, wellness and fitness for the last 5 years. I love being able to go out and talk to people about health and wellness, and empower them to make healthy changes for a long life. She also became a prenatal yoga teacher and labor doula in 2010. Both have been a rewarding addition to her teaching. It's through her students that she gets to be WITNESS to the true beauty of yoga. Watching them undergo true manifestations of self, consciously and unconsciously. Being a teacher is one of the most rewarding things Miranda has ever done. "My path of personal growth is no longer straight and narrow; it is vast, deep, dark and sometimes scary. Yet, I know that my relationship with yoga will support me along the way." back to top |

Kaylee Keim - Kaylee fell in love with yoga when she was a student at the University of Colorado at Boulder. A regular yoga practice allowed her to soften from the stress and tension that was present in her studies. Ultimately, the practice allowed her to get in touch with what truly felt good in life and her path led her to Michigan where she connected with a bright and beautiful Sangha that encouraged and supported her to complete a 200-hour teacher training at Hilltop Yoga in Lansing, Michigan.
Now back in her hometown of Denver, It is her goal to empower students to use the process of alignment to open up the vast potential that lies beyond the purely physical practice. As her practice continues to evolve, she hopes to honestly reflect those changes in sharing accessible, grounded and authentic classes.

Kirk Lautensleger - Before beginning his journey with Yoga, Kirk had been self employed for the previous 10 years with different business ventures in real estate, finance and online endeavors. It was his fast paced life off the mat life that led him to yoga. Kirk first tried yoga in 2005 after a business associate invited him to a class. With his busy and stressful life, yoga really grounded him and helped Kirk find peace and breathing off the mat. He feels that too many people focus on, and therefore stress, about the smaller things in life. Kirk leads a life of laughter and joy and finds humor in his surroundings and actions. He thinks that yoga can be more lighthearted for certain audiences. Kirk’s teaching is a direct reflection of who he is and what he believes in. People think that yoga can only be serious, and he teaches from a place that allows for humor, laughter, smiling and fun in class. He thinks this philosophy will open people up more and make yoga more accessible to those that currently have doubts or other hesitations. He went through his 200 hour Teacher Training in 2008 and has been teaching ever since. He is an E-RYT with Yoga Alliance. He has supplemented that training with two advanced teacher trainings that have given him another 100+ hours of learning. Kirk enjoys participating in workshops from some of his favorite yoga teachers to continue to learn and challenge himself. Kirk also enjoys a variety of other activities including snowboarding, hiking, camping, running, biking, soccer and volleyball. One of Kirk’s biggest passions are life experiences…which he taps into with extensive travel to over 35 countries and 46 states. He has lived in foreign countries and has also found great reward in mission trips to deliver food and medicine to underdeveloped nations. back to top |

Jennifer Lux - Jennifer Lux discovered her love for yoga in 2003. Originally the practice was a way for her to bring balance and flexibility into her body while marathon training, but Jennifer soon discovered that yoga brought those same gifts into her mind and heart. The mat has evolved overtime to a place for self-reflection, to witness, to heal, to discover, and to celebrate.
Also a mom and birth doula, Jennifer has a passion to bring yoga to populations that don’t generally have exposure to the practice, including prisoners and teen moms. “I believe that yoga should be available to all those seeking a bigger, more meaningful life and I feel blessed to share this transformative gift with some of those communities.” Her certifications exemplify that commitment to bringing the gift of yoga to all communities, completing studies in Vinyasa, Power, Prenatal, Partner, and Kid’s Yoga. Jennifer finds inspiration in the most ordinary moments -- the kindness of a stranger, her daughter’s curiosity, the unconditional support of community. As a student and teacher of this ancient art, Jennifer’s local influences include Jeremy Wolf, Patrick Harrington, Micah Springer, and Scott Anderson’s Warrior Academy and the philosophy that creating powerful bodies and open hearts on the mat will serve to improve the world around us. This infusion of power, mind-body-spirit, is what her challenging classes strive to achieve. back to top |

Nick Wilder - Nick has been involved in either some form of athletics and/or fitness his entire life, but it wasn't until 2006 when yoga ultimately changed his path. While working on his undergraduate degree in finance he felt something was missing. He needed an outlet and something outside of the 'box'. Something physically challenging was originally the draw, but to discover yoga also challenged the mind was all too intriguing...and he was hooked after only one class. Finishing his bachelors in 2008 was quite an accomplishment, but to complete his 200-hr Power Vinyasa training just days after was what would ultimately lead him down his path. Since, Nick has done additional trainings and participated in workshops with Rusty Wells, Janet Stone, Ana Forrest, Darren Main, and Shiva Rea. Nick's class is often filled with positive energy and always incorporates a heavy dose of breath with movement. The association of moving breath to movement can lead to a moving meditation in which the two can coexist, allowing the mind to relax and let go, finding the present moment. Nick has a love for music and he tries to incorporate that into his classes. "Through a consistent yoga practice. a window into the Self is available for each person to grow and discover themselves. Different for everyone, the challenges and breakthroughs that occur on the mat are nothing short of amazing. Yoga can empower people to discover their limits then go even further...allowing the discovery of one's potential endless." back to top |
